Operation Daffodil 2012

kwt_colour_logo_biggerMalltraeth Ymlaen was awarded £300 by KEEP WALES TIDY under the 2012/13 small grants scheme.
The money was to be used for the purchase of Daffodil bulbs, planting tools and bone meal fertilizer. The majority of the bulbs to be planted along the 'Cob' at Malltraeth, which forms part of the Isle of Anglesey coastal footpath as well as "Lon Las Cefni". The remaining bulbs are to be planted on the field at the Bodorgan Community School and other public land within the Community of Bodorgan.

Our money was extended much further through the generosity of the Management of the HOLLAND ARMS GARDEN CENTRE at Gaerwen.

On Tuesday the 2nd of October 2012 a small team of volunteers under the leadership of Mr Gareth Owen, the Keep Wales Tidy Project Officer and Lois Roberts, the Tidy Towns Officer for the Isle of Anglesey County Council, commenced the planting operation. Part of the team was made up of pupils from the Bodorgan Community School, namely Aron, Dafydd, Erin, James and Nathan assisted by their Head Teacher Mr Robin Griffiths.
