Details and application form

Coleg Menai have agreed to run adult education courses at the Community Centre, starting in September.

All our courses will be open to everyone. They will be held in a classroom in the community centre. The centre has easy access off the A4080 and has car-parking for over 40 vehicles (on tarmac).  There's a location map here

 

Coleg Menai have advised us that for our first term we should restrict oursleves to only two courses. They have seen the results from our business plan survey conducted in 2021 and have suggested the following courses might be of interest this autumn.​ The course costs are provisional, and we are not asking for a firm registration and payment at this stage.

 Computing and Digital Skills - Beginners   
   This is aimed at those who want a gentle and informal approach to learning how to use technology. The sessions are delivered by friendly and approachable tutors, lessons are planned to meet the interests of those attending and can be enjoyed as part of career development of learning for pleasure.
  • You will learn the basics of using a computer or device, which will include basic typing and keyboard skills to create documents.
  • You will also learn about: staying safe online, your digital footprint, interacting with others online and using security features on devices.
  • You will learn how to manage your digital information from files and photos to web pages.
  • You will create/use an email account to communicate with others and to sign up to online services.
  • You are welcome to bring your own device
  • The course runs for 15 weeks of 2.5 hour sessions.
  • The course costs £30
  
     
Drawing and Painting  
 

This course introduces you to the basic formalities of drawing and painting. Drawing is taught from observation and is geared to develop your mark-making skills and personal visual language. You may have a level of skill already in drawing and/or painting which you want to enhance through this course; it is very popular and is often a springboard to further creative visual practice.

  • The course runs for 8 weeks of 2 hour sessions

  These are run by Bangor University and they are fully booked for this year. Bangor will be in touch for the next term and we'll keep you posted when we have any further information.
